Where a mediation happens is often as important as the identity and authority of the people attending it. Mediations are often conducted in the offices of one of the disputing parties; this creates hostility and tension for the party that is in a “foreign territory.”

Paul takes care to hold mediation sessions in a completely neutral conference setting. The spacious, comfortable and well-lit facilities are a common ground for parties to air their grievances and come to a mutually acceptable resolution. A sense of distance, privacy, comfort and safety are all critical to deciding where mediation is held; it fosters a climate of settlement and allows parties to negotiate in peace and without rancor.

Paul’s conference area includes business services such as telephones and fax machines, as well as refreshments like light food, fresh coffee and bottled water. Each of the parties is given a separate room in order to maintain privacy in their discussions.
